Community Activities
Southeast Seminole Heights is not called the activists community without reason. Whether it is a fun community gathering, or a serious campaign, the neighborhood is always jumping and the goal is always the same......working together to make things better!
Social activities planned for the balance of 2006 include our September General Membership Meeting which is a Meet , Eat and Greet Meeting, our Ice Cream Social, Plant Exchange and Garden Fair, and Dog Day In Giddens Park
But SESH is not just about fun. Its about community dedication, diversity and learning to work together for a common goal. Regular committees like, NICE (Neighborhood Improvement & Code Enforcement) ,Neighborhood Watch and the Vehicle Patrol all address the needs of the community and are all volunteer.
SESH is filled with special citizens who are constantly thinking up new ideas and making them happen. HIT or the Home Improvement Team was started by one resident who saw the need for neighbors to help neighbors with home improvement projects too large to be done alone. And Operation Shoebox was the brainchild of another neighbor who was a Marine Mom and who realized our troops needed many small items to make things in the desert a bit more bearable. Dog Day In The Park, while a lot of fun for dogs and humans alike, was actually an idea of a local teenager who wanted to raise money for the Giddens Park Renovation. The stories go on and on about people who have the community spirit and are anxious to share it! These people make SESH a really great place to live!!
