While at the dog beach Sunday afternoon, we were asked what was burning in Tampa.  Even though we had just gone through downtown on the way to the beach, we had no idea.  When we left about an hour later to go home, we realized while heading off of the interstate and on to MLK, that indeed, something was burning and we could see an amazing amount of blinking lights Northward on Nebraska.  As we approached Shadowlawn to we looked down Nebraska and saw the huge firefighting crane across the road, although we had no idea what it actually was until we got closer.  We turned on Hillsborough and drove around the fire until we could figure out what was burning.  We were very sad when we realized a piece of our history was on fire and that the magnitude of the fire meant it was gone forever.  S.Simons
