City of Tampa Irrigation Restrictions

  • Addresses ending in an even number, or the letter A-M, may water on Tuesdays only.
     
  • Addresses ending in an odd number, or the letter N-Z, may water on Sundays only.
     
  • Watering on the designated day is allowed between midnight and 8 a.m. or 6 p.m. and midnight.
     
  • Low-volume hand watering (a hose fitted with an automatic shut-off nozzle) and low-volume irrigation of new and established non-lawn landscaping is not restricted to a specific day or time. However, low-volume hand watering of lawn areas is restricted to the designated day and time for the address.
     
  • Irrigation for establishment of new turf and landscaping shall be permitted during designated watering hours for thirty (30) days beginning on the day the new plant material was installed as follows:
  • For the first fifteen (15) days of the 30 day period, watering is not restricted to day of the week.
     
  • For the last fifteen (15) days of the 30 day period, lawns may be watered every other day with even numbered addresses watering on even-numbered days of the month, and odd numbered addresses watering on odd-numbered days of the month.
Watering during the (30) day establishment period is limited to areas containing new plant materials only. An entire zone of an irrigation system may only be used if at least 50 percent of the zone contains new plant material. If less than 50% of the zone contains new plant material or the area is typically not watered by an irrigation system, only the new plant material may be watered by means of hand watering, or any method which isolates and waters only the new plant material.
  • Irrigation systems may be operated during restricted hours for cleaning and maintenance purposes. System operation is limited to no more than 5-minutes per zone per week. An attendant must be on site and visible throughout the entire cleaning and maintenance operation.
     
  • Watering in of fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, insecticides and fungicides is allowed on designated watering days during the normal hours allowed for irrigation. Chemicals applied by a licensed professional who posts a dated advisory marker on the property may be watered in on the date of the application during the normal hours allowed for irrigation, midnight to 8 a.m and 6 p.m. to midnight.
     
  • Watering with reclaimed water is not restricted however it should still be used in an efficient manner.

Other Restrictions

  • Personal vehicle washing is not restricted. However, a hose fitted with an automatic shut-off nozzle must be used.
     
  • Charity and fundraising carwashes are prohibited unless held on the premises of a commercial car washing facility which recycles water. The car washing performed by the charitable or fundraising group must recycle its water through the same operation as used by the commercial car washing facility
     
  • Pressure washing of buildings, sidewalks, driveways, patios and other non-pervious areas is not allowed.
  • Pressure washing in preparation for painting or other necessary maintenance is not restricted.
     
  • Water use for outdoor recreation where the water runs continuously, except for recreational facilities and businesses using recirculating water, is prohibited.
     
  • The filling of swimming pools not using a filter and recirculating system is prohibited.
     
  • Outdoor aesthetic uses of water, such as decorative water fountains and features are prohibited unless they are recirculating and provide a necessary water quality benefit or use reclaimed water.
  • All wasteful and unnecessary water use is prohibited.

Nebraska 238-7720– My Favorite.  It is small but prices are good, the shelves are always kept organized, people are friendly and the service is  excellent.  In addition I always seem to run into someone I know every time I shop there. There is a larger Publix at 2724 W. Hillsborough.
